Nepal–Bharat Relations: A Commitment to Sanskritik Ekatmata

Fostering Civilizational Unity through Policy Dialogue

Nepal and India – two nations sharing geographical boundaries and common “Chiti” – are an example of Sanskritik Ekatmata, based on a shared civilizational ethos and strong cultural linkages.

This type of integration is natural and not artificially created, and is seldom visible between any other two countries in the world.

However, state-to-state relations are not always congruent with these natural ancestral linkages and the pradatta relationship both countries inherently share. Such anomalies need to be addressed, so that formal diplomatic ties align with true Sanskritik Ekatmata.

The nation-state is a modern construct with limited capacity to fully embody Sanskritik Ekatmata.

Our aim at Neeti Anusandhan Pratishthan, Nepal (NeNAP), is to bridge the gap between modern state relations and ancestral cultural unity by initiating the Nepal–Bharat Policy Dialogue, Neeti Vimarsha.
